The Guatemala 2010 Youth Olympic Games site has been launched.
LAKE AMATITLAN near the outskirts of Guatemala City offers a spectacular setting for rowing, sailing, triathlon and mountain bike events.

Mateo Flores Stadium with a seating capacity of 28,000 will be the site of track and field events. Young performers can dream of greater things to come.
Cementos Progreso Stadium will be the site of spectacular football (soccer) matches
Football (soccer) matches will also be held the Stadium of the Army. It will be renovated to increase seating capacity and provide additional comfort to the spectators that will flock to the facilities to enjoy the matches.
Basketball games will be held in Teodoro Palacios Field House. It has been newly-renovated with the exception that wildly cheering spectators will Òraise the roofÓ with their support of contending teams.
Sagrado Corazon will be the venue for Modern Pentathlon
Tennis matches will be held in the newly-constructed Racket Centre

Carlos Arguello is one of an elite group of world pioneers in the field of visual effects for the international high-end movie industry centered in Hollywood. Before forming Studio C, he spent more than 20 years as Creative and/or Art Director of renowned companies such as Disney, PDI and Cinesite working on films such as Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killers", Universal Pictures' "Heart & Souls", and Walt Disney's "Angels in the OutfieldÓ, "Space Jam", "Batman and Robin", "Sphere", "The DevilÕs Advocate", "Armageddon", and "The Mummy". He also did work for television networks such as ABC, NBC, HBO, TNT, and CBS. He has received numerous international awards for his work.

He advises on maximizing the long-term positive impact of the games on municipal and national development and on the transformation of youth using an innovative multi-sector partnership approach. His specialization is strategic planning and the management of development about which he has given conferences internationally.
He has served as a consultant or has conducted seminars and workshops for a broad range of public institutions, non-government organizations and private companies in Guatemala, Brazil, Honduras, El Salvador, Panama, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Serbia and the United States. He has lengthy academic experience as chairman of a post-graduate management department. He also has worked in multinational corporations in the United States and in an investment bank in London.
STUDIO C will use its Hollywood experience to flood
the Olympic Village, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and other
events with exciting animation and visual effects
making GUATEMALA 2010 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES the place to be.
Studio C produced many of the visual effects for Disney's
"The Chronicles of Narnia" nominated for the Academy Award.
It has also been involved in a broad array of other feature films
such as Universal Picture's "The Chronicles of Riddick",
"Fast and Furious 3", "The Ring 2" produced by Dreamworks and
"Fever Pitch" produced by 20th Century Fox.
Studio C represented private enterprise of all of
Latin America at the Private Sector Forum of the 36th General Assembly
of the OAS in the Dominican Republic in June, 2006.
The task was to provide guidance on how to reduce the digital
gap of the region. It organized the artistic presentation
for the Closing Ceremonies of the International Olympic
Committee Annual Assembly held in Guatemala City in 2007.

technology to increase cultural understanding and appreciation and
make education more relevant and exciting in a
multilingual environment in Guatemala and the Latin American region.

the visit of Bill Clinton to Guatemala
In charge of sound for the Annual Assemblies of the
International Olympic Committee and the Interamerican
Development Bank held in Guatemala in 2007.
Participants will encounter Guatemala City's planned-for futuristic Center for Art and Technology where students will learn arts and digital technology while they apply their new skills in real-life contracts in the Hollywood entertainment industry in innovative "Living Laboratories".
This Center will combine business, entertainment, education, culture and social responsibility activities in an ultra-modern setting.
The YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES will be the cornerstone of Guatemala City's Plan 2020
There will be preparation for the academic as well as the sports challenges of the future. Universities will be invited to talk about career selection and scholarship opportunities for these world-class athletes. They are already at an age when they must begin to weigh the options.

Universidad Francisco Marroquin is one of the universities
located a short distance from the Olympic Village.
Outreach of the YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES will be facilitated by the YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAM of Guatemala City. The First Municipal Assembly of Youth was held in June of this year. Over 2000 leaders from the neighborhoods and districts of the City exchanged positive experiences related to the work of youths as the motor of development of their communities.

The Youth Olympic Games will be the cornerstone of a nationwide, integral, multi-sector program to transform the youth of Guatemala, especially youth at risk.
Youth leaders are now transmitting Olympic values and principals as part of a youth sports program and talking about their application in daily life
Youths listening attentively to the message
With the Youth Olympic Games serving as a marvelous inspiration, the program will be expanded to sports fields and different sports throughout the nation of Guatemala.
The YOG will be a flagship for incorporating rural communities of Guatemala in the world of globalization, telecommunications and multimedia
School-age youths such as these who are studying in Santa Cruz, Quiche in the interior of the country will host different delegations with the desire of developing friendships and lasting ties.Contacts will be stimulated by the innovative "Grupos Gestores" or multi-sector management groups of the communities.
The YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES will be a flagship for GuatemalaÕs proactive cultural preservation and enhancement.
For Guatemala this is vital because there are 24 different cultures in the country.
Nestled together almost within walking distance of the Olympic Village are the Ixchel Museum of Mayan Dress and Textiles, and the Popol Vuh Museum which is dedicated to the preservation of pottery and other ancient indigenous artifacts.
The Youth Olympic Games will be a flagship for
GuatemalaÕs efforts to achieve sustainable development
and environmental protection.
Love and appreciation for the environment will be developed
in the theater using digital art and technology.
Real-life immersion in protected areas such as the
"Biotopo del Quetzal" and in natural habitats near
the Olympic Village will enable participants and
guests to appreciate the marvelous diversity of
vegetation and wildlife that Guatemala offers.
